Following the release of the short yet grand trailer for the latest 007 entry ‘Spectre’ we finally get to view the video accompaniment for the Sam Smith-sung theme song ‘Writing’s On the Wall‘. I don’t know if it’s to compensate for the lyrical and slightly dismaying song but all I could say is that the video makes it sound better. Despite its’ shortcomings, Smith sung the theme very well albeit a little inferior to that of Adele’s Skyfall which still gives me chills whenever I listen to it. Not that Smith’s song is bad because it indeed sounds like Bond, it’s just that Adele gave the theme song for Skyfall a very bold feel.
In the music video, Sam Smith takes us to moody places while belting out the tune. Along with it, we also see clips featuring the characters and the locations we’re gonna get to see in the film. The video is very desolating, fitting in perfectly with the sorrowful and mysterious tone of the film complete with Smith with coffins as the backdrop in the one of the video’s scenes.
Spectre will be the 24th Bond film in the James Bond 007 film franchise, directed by Sam Mendes (American Beauty/Skyfall) and will be starring Daniel Craig reprising the role of Bond, Christopher Waltz, Monica Bellucci, Lea Seydoux, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and Ben Wishaw.
