Warner Bros-Legendary confirms Godzilla/King Kong crossover film and Cinematic Universe

2014 saw the uprising of the gargantuan creature ‘Godzilla’ in his modern-era self titled film. With fans supporting the supposed comeback of the monster, it was guaranteed to satisfy these fans longing to see the beloved destroyer of cities. Despite the efforts, it failed to please the fans and ended up as a flop critically with most pointing out the lack of Godzilla’s onscreen presence as a hindrance.

If you are one of the fans who walked out of the theater stomping your feet and sporting a frown in heavy disappointment, upon hearing this news you might want to rejoice.  It seems like we’re not only going to get a sequel to Godzilla and the brand-new King Kong movie because…Warner just recently confirmed that we’re gonna get to see the two face off in 2020.

Warner-Legendary stated in a press release:

“All-powerful monsters become towering heroes for a new generation, revealing a mythology that brings together Godzilla and Legendary’s King Kong in an ecosystem of other giant super-species, both classic and new,” “Monarch, the human organization that uncovered Godzilla in the 2014 film, will expand their mission across multiple releases.”

Along with it, Warner-Legendary has given us clues regarding when they are going to be released. They are as follows:

• 2017 – Kong: Skull Island (Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts and stars Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson, John Goodman, Tian Jing, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, John Ortiz, Shea Whigham and Toby Kebbell)
•2018 – Godzilla 2 (Directed by Gareth Edwards)
•2020 – Godzilla vs. Kong

Only this time, it’ll be presented in a much more epic manner to make your jaws drop with today’s top-tier special effects. Prepare yourself for what’s about to come because it’s going to arrive in monstrous proportions.
