Leto’s Joker Graces Empire Magazine’s December Issue Cover + New Pics of ‘Suicide Squad’

‘Empire’ magazine gave their subscribers an early look of the December 2015 issue. As far as I’m concerned, the magazine can’t be found being sold anywhere here in the Philippines. Then again, don’t you worry because Live/Love/Cinema is here to give your eyes a feast with the new photos for ‘Suicide Squad’ and the latest look at Jared Leto’s ridiculous incarnation of The Clown Prince of Crime. Gaze upon his lunacy…

The accompaniment of the colors used alongside this thuggish yet vicious reimagining of our favorite Batman villain just screams perfection. The use of light greens and purples as well as yellow just purely embodies The Joker. Of course, let’s not forget how amazing Leto looks in that purple robe and cane as he walks amidst the green smoke. It’s as if he’s saying “Wait ’til they get a load of me…” and yeah, that deadpan stare just adds to the craziness factor. I’ll conclude by saying that I just can’t wait to see his smile that has always been The Joker’s signature.

Upper Left: Pictured is what seems to be a visit from Harleen Quinzel (then Harley Quinn) to The Joker.  If you can see closely, Joker is strapped in a straitjacket to contain his malicious intents against Harleen. We all know though, that he will still inflict harm on her (as seen in the trailer). Comic-book fans can easily tell that this scene is very iconic, and always happens to the two. How it will play out in the film seems to be the burning question.

Upper Right: This photo is “behind-the-scenes” look of the filming of this sequence rather than being an actual still. It gives us a closer look at The Joker in a straitjacket in a dark, dull room.

Upper Left: This photo gives us a look at Cara Delevingne’s Enchantress, or who she really was before she acquired her powers. In this still, it looks like she has drenched herself in a tub full of black liquid. This still is exactly the same as the one we saw in the trailer. Aside from that, Cara looks really puzzled as to why exactly she is in a tub drowned in “dark matter”. Maybe it’s just oil, really.

Center/Middle: Another shot of Margot Robbie’s Harleen, now Harley Quinn. We see her swinging atop a swing made of what appears to be her bedsheets or maybe, cloth. She is seen wearing white, ragged clothes and sports white locks. What is pictured seems to appear in the same scene that we saw in the trailer, which was very memorable.

Upper Right: Now, that was a quick change. Here is Cara going dark and full-on “Enchantress” complete with a stare that will haunt you in your sleep. Her appearance is akin to Chloe Grace Moretz’s in 2013’s ‘Carrie’ remake in terms of the stare she gives. She looks really terrifying yet gorgeous. Ah, that’s it! “Gorgeously terrifying”, it sounds better that way.
