We just found out that The Untitled Wolverine Sequel is now filming and it will be indeed rated R!
In addition to that, Collider had the chance to interview producer Simon Kinberg during an X-Men: Apocalypse press-con. Here’s what he had to say about Wolverine 3:
“It’s a very radical, bold, different Wolverine than you’ve ever seen in any of these movies.”
“I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say about that. I will agree with you that Patrick Stewart was rumored to be a part of that film. It takes place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It’s violent, it’s kind of like a western in its tone. It’s just a very cool, different film.”
Just hearing those words already got us hyped, but finding out that it will be based on the Old Man Logan storyline in the comics just caught us off guard. Furthermore serving as proof that this outing might just be the best Wolverine solo film in the trilogy.
The Untitled Wolverine Sequel is directed by James Mangold and stars Hugh Jackman in his final outing as the clawed berserker. Starring alongside him are Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant and Eriq Lasalle.
WOLVERINE 3 is expected to arrive in Philippine cinemas in 2017.
